4:30 am of Oct.28th, a typical chilly morning of northern China, along with the sound of Han，
participants queued up to attend the morning recitation.
Morning bell and evening drum, wake up those in deep sleep
Sound of chanting, rinse away dusts of heart For people who joined ceremony for the first time, this is soul-shaking experience one could never forget. Bodhi seeds were planted.
At the first glance of Chan Tea , the small but delicate tea set might make you feel very familiar and comfortable. However, when you really start to learn, you will realize how complicated it is. Each movement is not only a technique, more importantly, it is the practice of your mind. Even with a slight distraction, you may grab the wrong tool, let alone to perform with music and mind practice.
Luckily, lecturer gave detailed instructions with patience and participants studied with great effort. At the end of three days, trainees could perform each movement smoothly with confidenct smiles on their faces!
The fast pace of city life makes people live in a busy and anxious style. Normally they get used to rush everywhere. However, walking meditation slows down people’s steps and mind.
"Anxious mind is unable to smell the aroma of graceful blooming flower while rushing people could step on landmine deployed by themselves." Walking meditation is another form of Chan practice which simply focus on walking and at the sametime to slow down.
In the evening of Oct.29th, trainees and volunteers gathered together in west auditorium to attend a special tea party.
Tea tastes different by different people under different atmospheres. This very special tea tasting gathering only happens in Zhengjue Monastery. Through all these tea parties you have attended, it would definitely be the memorable one.
